Science 10 is an integrative course that deepens learners' scientific literacy by exploring key concepts in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth and Space Science through inquiry, investigation, and evidence-based reasoning. Anchored on the DepEd MATATAG Curriculum, the course emphasizes the development of scientific knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, and responsible decision-making in addressing real-world and community issues.
Learners investigate the transmission of genetic information and evolution, examine the structure, properties, and behavior of matter, explain forces, motion, energy, electricity, and magnetism, and analyze Earth systems, natural hazards, climate, and the universe. Through laboratory activities, collaborative investigations, engineering design tasks, and technology-enhanced learning experiences, students develop scientific process skills while applying scientific principles to everyday life and sustainable development.
The course fosters the values of scientific integrity, environmental stewardship, collaboration, and social responsibility, preparing learners to become informed citizens capable of making evidence-based decisions and contributing to the achievement of sustainable communities in the 21st century.
